ABOUT ED

Ed Rieker and his wife Ruth have lived on Wiltshire Drive for the last twelve years. They have a 7 year old daughter Amy and Ed has two sons, Tom and Tony, who live and work outside of Georgia.

Ed is a business owner and serial entrepreneur who has a successful track record starting, building and selling software businesses. During the last 15 years he has been the founder or co-founder of four health-care software firms two of which have been acquired by public companies. Two of these healthcare firms were admitted to The Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), the well-known incubator at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has extensive experience and knowledge in negotiations, finance and growing businesses.

One of the projects that Ed has been working on is the development of a small business incubator for the Avondale Estates downtown area.  As part of his due diligence on this project, Ed was a Venture Catalyst at ATDC for almost a year helping screen ATDC company applicants to the incubator and advising the resident high-tech start-up companies. His most recent activity in this project was to acquire a building in downtown AE to be converted to offices for the new incubator.

Mr. Rieker received his MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He is a co-inventor of the 1998 patent for an “Automated System and Method for Providing Real-Time Verification of Health Insurance Eligibility.”
